Message from the editor of spreadbettrader.co.uk

As a finance professional working as an investment analyst in the City, I am aware of the array of investment tools at the disposal of City institutions and wealthy private investors. However, the same cannot be said about the small private investor scene. In an environment overflowing with trading opportunities and in which there is a tremendous amount of potentially useful information that is freely available to those who know where to look, I am perplexed at the amount of misinformation being doled out to small investors and private traders.

This website grew out of my frustration with the poor level of service available to private investors in the UK.

There are just too many people shooting their mouths off claiming to be ‘stock market gurus’. There are way too many ‘free evening seminars’ taking place in hotels around Heathrow and way too many people being taken in by cowboys and pushy salesmen claiming to have the stock market secrets of millionaires they never met! I am disturbed by the fact that these unproven ‘gurus’ sell courses for upwards of £1200 without ever having to practice what they preach! Some even sell their seminars on the back of teaching techniques that they claim enabled someone to “turn $10,000 into $200 million”. Goodness gracious me!!!
